“My experiences behind the camera started in my school days. As a teenager I learned to compose the photographic and film frame with the same creativity and rigor in which I write the graphic works (finished layout). The study of art history has also allowed me to analyze the composition of the space on the canvas in depth, and to observe and evaluate the element of light and the expressive volumes that it writes and determines. At the beginning of my professional career I was outlined as a cameraman in large television studios (in Italy and Switzerland). I focused on different entertainment formats such as situational comedies, game shows, musical concerts and commercials. In film studios I learned a lot about the targeting of various light sources. Each projector has technical characteristics that relate to aesthetic suggestions.

The theme of “governing light” has always fascinated me and has been the prelude to the development of my future skills as a director of photography. Later I had the opportunity to work for several years as a camera operator on documentaries, naturalistic, social and communication film projects for NGO, exploring topics on human environmental and medical health rights. This form of storytelling not only allowed me to travel throughout Europe, Africa, America, India and Southeast Asia, but it also immersed me into the investigation of more complex cultures and themes. It was a real training ground that taught me how to communicate contexts and realities through the cinematographic language, built from a precise visual grammar. These dense experiences have prepared me to devise the shots, seeing them connected in a narrative structure functional to the story. This is how my strong interest in editing emerged, inevitably linked to directing. The completeness of contextual and general vision allows me to manage agencies, production companies, and entire communication projects with creative, directorial, production and post production skills.”
